Red cedar is also known for its distinctive odor, which is said to repel moths and smells like pineapple or pear drops when crushed.

WORKING PROPERTIES

Red cedar is soft and has good workability, making it easy to nail, glue, and screw. It can also be painted, stained, and polished, but its rough texture may require extra work. When machining red cedar, precautions should be taken as the sawdust can irritate some people.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
